I guess one problem of getting information at trade shows is that you can get bad info from one attendant.

However, I went to WSTL booth and believed that they did not have ADSL only HDSL-- anyway, the man I talked to only showed me a 1.5 Mbps modem. I asked he said there was no ADSL. Does this conflict with your info?

Now, the woman I spoke with at Orckit said they were running ADSL- but it was slow due to either the server or some other part of the network. In fact, the demo was not even working on day 2 when I was there.

I don't know how important any of this is, practically speaking, but I would like to have a feel for the current status of affairs.

My feeling for Orckit is that unless their DMT is standard compliant, why would a telco seriously consider them?
