you might try a different printer cable ...

sometimes, the simple act of disconnecting and re connecting the existing cable could help ...

I suspect, and that is all it is .. a "suspect" ... that it is a hardware difficulty and not a software problem ....

The fact of you reloading drivers making it work shows me that the "initial" bootup of the printer is bypassing the internal override default ....

but,
then again ... it is an unusual problem ....
