Re : weak Sprint PCS signal / ability to "do" Internet wirelessly -- part of the reason I changed my Sprint PCS plan ...

AND -- bought the Kyocera / Sprint PCS "data kit" (a cable, and a CD-ROM for installation of software) (and ... a shockingly huge instruction manual (mostly unimportant)), was :

to see how well or how poorly this stuff works.

(since the money I was wasting on this stuff was small in relation to the amount of Qualcomm shares that my wife and I own).

Several observations :

1. Try to do wireless Internet (which Sprint PCS counts as "wireless web" minutes) ONLY during "off-peak" hours, because -- you usually end up using more minutes than you might have anticipated.

2. Even with really lousy signal strength (for example -- zero bars on my phone) (where the strength varies from zero up to four) ... it still works fine !

3. One learns to appreciate short, simple (no wacko HTML graphics) e-mails !
