Amazing how the complexity of painting increases from Pippi
to Rembrandt etc

like the evolution of our minds and ourselves ...

we learned a certain new depth to our
perceptions and began to realized and evolve it on canvas ,

and over time the eye of the
beholder starts to crave more and the
painters provided it .... first religion and the saints
were painted , and then artists & painting
became religion and the saints..

...well they were saints in that they
were living more real lives than others and saw more
that lived in the world...cause they used their "eyes"
too see, though they were often considered only
"hired" help , they were the ones who changed so much of the landscape
of seeing.

we learn to see more of the world , as we admit more
of the world inwardly to our own selves . We saw that the
earth was round a 1000 yrs before ...but they weren't
allowed to paint it ....you couldn't go there <g>

feelings become colors , and shade becomes mood
textures becomes shade , and shade becomes color...

and we opened up ourselves as we painted down
thru the centuries...new insights , new eyes
to see with...

and a little smile , could last a while ,said
the lady Mona Lisa to all the women who
were to follow her...

;-)
