Nice rebound in gold stocks towards the end of the day. The struggle between the commercials and the specs is far from decided.

One thing that is very different about this gold rally as compared with all the others since 1993 is that the dollar has turned down decisively and real short-term interest rates are close to zero and probably will fall below zero shortly. That was also the case in 1993 -- the last decent gold bull.

The commercials (gold cartel) of course continue to do their best to keep gold in the doldrums. But that may no longer be enough IMHO.
