But if you follow through the set of posts I put up, there's not a single LOL of <g> or anything in them to indicate she was just kidding.

OH pleeeeeeeeeze, CH,

When you mentioned Jim B and X earlier, I just rolled my eyes and hoped you were kidding as Jim B and X are both masters of black humor and satire and had some very funny dialogue at Feelies, of which this was just a snippet. But when I saw this latest desperate list, culled from 1999 yet, proffered as some sort of PROOF that X lacks values or concern for human life, I began to have serious concerns over your state of mind. I (and others) find her humor very Swiftian (A Modest Proposal springs to mind). Obviously, she gets too close to comfort for some, but I'm surprised at a few of the ones who have lost perspective and integrity in their attempts to somehow diminish her, and instead, made themselves seem smaller.

I have had my Feelies and DAR posts transplanted a couple of times by people who believed the misuse was justified to support their usually poor opinion of me, and it made me furious. DIslike me for legitimate reasons, but don't pull my parodies and fictions from their venue willynilly and present them as some sort of official document of my personal beliefs.

Using this type of logic, I have some real problems because I go around shooting men with an UZI full of gummibears. And I am an exhibitionist in my thong (and doesn't my husband wish).
And you have a foot fetish and a desire for multiple partners which should make your wife's hair stand on end.
And X is writing a cookbook entitled, "Nibbling at Your Neighbors" (The Appetizers Next Door)
These are things to smile over, these are what make us INTERESTING.

Pulling out posts written on other threads with totally different "thread zeitgeists", if you will, to try to reinforce a desired image of someone regardless of the truth, is just poor form. I am appalled at the hours you and Neo must have spent looking for this "evidence". Do you really want to spend your free time pursuing someone who isn't even here posting? Is this a worthy use of your mind and gifts? And even if she were here, isn't what you're doing just granting a great deal of importance and weight to her views? If nothing else, this exercise has supported my belief that X has a lot of power in her writing and opinions. Her intellect must be very threatening to many of you.
But it has gone too far-- not for X- who isn't even reading the thread, but for YOU. It's ridiculous. It is not becoming. I am sad.
: ((((((

And btw, I seldom use emoticons unless I think the person I'm writing to will really not get that I am joking or exaggerating, or is a complete stranger to me. As a writer, I would hope that my humor stands on its own- my editors have never seen the need to add little "smile here!" cues for the readers. I don't think we used them at Feelies or DAR at all in earlier times. I;m not sure I've ever seen X use them.
