I am a Republican, so there's that! ggggggg Seriously, I think G has been targeting the stock markets for years. He is CLEARLY worried that his "magic" is failing, and that THIS time it may be different (i.e., rate cuts don't revive the economy). I think consumer psychology MUST hold. If the consumer cracks-- or we get Schiller's bust in housing -- then G will retire a failure, and go down in history as the dupe who blew up the markets. Mind you, that is PRECISELY what he did!! But that affects tomorrow not at all. G is like any person-- he wants his legacy. He needs to get on the program and boost these markets or he is in big trouble. The Press Release is everything. Everything. And he knows it. We all do Just the thoughts of a law professor, comfortably in cash (mostly) and sipping a Provencale aperitif on a hot August afternoon...........................
