STARFIELD RESOURCES INC. PRESS RELEASE August 20th, 2001 Corporate Office: #SRU-15-01 Suite 420-625 Howe Street Vancouver, BC CANADA SRU.CDNX V6C 2T6 SRFDF – OTC BB Tel: (604) 608-0400 Fax: (604) 608-0344 Toll Free: (877) 233-2244 email: info@starfieldres.com website: starfieldres.com Page 1 of 2 Ferguson Lake Nickel-Copper-Cobalt-Platinum-Palladium Project, Nunavut, Canada 300 METER (990 FEET) WESTERLY STEPOUT INTERSECTS 45.75 METERS (151.6 FEET) OF MASSIVE SULPHIDES
Starfield Resources is pleased to report assay results recently compiled from the Ferguson Lake Nickel-Copper-PGE-Cobalt property. Drill Holes FL01-75 to FL01-84 all successfully intersected West Zone massive sulphides and further defined the mineralized target. Drill Holes FL01-82 and FL01-84, located on Section 6160 West were designed as stepout holes to trace the mineralized trend established on Section 5856 West by Hole FL01-74 (reported July 9th, 2001). Hole FL01-82 drilled at an inclination of -73° intersected the West Zone from 588.05 to 618.9 meters, including a total of 14.4 meters of massive sulphides. Hole FL01-84, drilled under FL01-82 at a steeper drill angle of -80° intersected 45.95 meters of massive sulphides from 671.23 to 717.18 meters and represents the deepest intersection obtained to date at Ferguson Lake.
Results for Holes FL01-82 and FL01-84 are summarized as follows:

Drill Holes FL01-75, 77 and 80 were drilled to test mineralization higher in the zone to the west of intersections obtained in Holes FL01-72, 73 and 74 and reported earlier. Hole FL01-75 was sited on Section 5856 West, and FL01-77 and 80 were drilled from a common setup on Section 5960 West at -70° and -60° inclinations, respectively. Results for Holes FL01-75, 77 and 80 are summarized below:

Results from the recent holes confirm that grades and widths of massive sulphides are increasing with depth.
Drilling is continuing with three drill rigs and massive sulphide sections selected for analysis from an additional completed 10 holes are currently being processed. Updated resource tonnage figures are expected to be available shortly.
Drill Hole No. FL01-96 is currently being drilled on Section 6160 West to intersect the West Zone 120 meters below Hole No. FL01-84.
Drill Hole No. FL01-95 is currently being drilled on Section 6800 West and is a 640 meter westerly stepout from Hole No. FL01-84.
