Distasteful, yes. But it has the "benefit" (?) of being true without any need to argue about what did or didn't happen. Just what society should do about it.

And maybe get into the issue of the source of evil. Pure evil, in this case, I would say. Or at least pretty pure.

God?

Genes?

Upbringing?

Societal influence?

Parenting, or lack therof?

All or some or most or none of the above?

How is it that a person can do a thing like he did? I still find it incomprehensible, and I thought as a divorce and criminal lawyer there was nothing further I could find that was incompreheisible. But to do this to your own 13 day old baby . . . how do we explain that such things can happen?

What I didn't put in the first post was the the Court imposed a lifetime ban on him having any contact with the child, and he objected saying she wouldn't remember this and there was no need to break the father-daughter bond that way. Egad.
