Harvey,

Good article, thanks. Looks like the same thing Intel talks about and Sun already does. I have followed the UMA debate for some time and have read both pro and con. I personally am still undecided on the best choice. 16M becomes to small running windows with UMA and 20M is (4M for video) better. Also, I'm not sure everyone is quite ready to give up their collection or choice in video and sound cards. But then not everyone needs the best of everything, I believe that's part of the NC argument as well.

One size does not fit all in computers, that's why COBOL and FORTRAN still exist after years of wise folks predicting their demise to PASCAL and then C and now JAVA. I wish Cyrix lot's of luck, I'm sure MSFT might like to get out from under INTEL. Then again, I'm sure INTEL has not been asleep at the wheel either.

When the NC's hit the store shelves, we'll have a chance to put them through there paces and place informed bets in the stock market. Right now it's a crap shoot, last year we just argued about whether it was wise to upgrade to Win95, now you've got major paradigm shifts in hardware to consider as well. Should be exciting times ahead.
