I get a kick out the Dems finding religion and worrying about the SS trust Fund(which doesn't exist).

Both sides of the aisle got the idea that using the SS Trust fund for operating expenses. Sen Dole was one of the original key players on your side of the aisle to get the idea going.

What I get a kick out of is the conservatives spending so much "talk" energy on how horrible the idea is and vowing never to stop the practice and then they flip and it's no longer important...much like how horrible the deficit spending was under Carter....then it wasn't a problem having a deficit under Reagan...and a record breaking one it was....if you were actually to take the time to look at the budgets and map them over the various Administratons and Congressional control...what you would discover is that there is no correlation with Congress but a strong correlation with Administrations. The Republican Administrations are always the big deficit spenders...looks like G.W. will be no different. Lots of rhetoric but he'll lead us down the path of deficit spending once again and the conservatives will switch the rhetoric and say deficit spending isn't a problem.

Looking forward to the CBO estimates that come out on Wednesday.
