I have a vague recollection from about thirty years ago of fishing for Jewfish in the Keys. My ex and I used to visit there every winter. I remember an old guy who spent all of his time fishing for Jewfish from the shore. I think it was at a park on the east side of the Bahia Honda bridge. Every once in a while he would catch one and people would gather to watch the event, which, as I recall, could take a day. He would use his car to haul it in. I'd forgotten all about that until I saw your post. I wish I could remember better what kind of rig he used.
