Not quite an outright acquisition, but serves the same purpose.

"Cook(R) Incorporated Signs Agreement With Guidant Corporation to Allow Distribution of New Paclitaxel-Coated Coronary Stent Systems"

Now GDT has two technology irons in the fire in regards to coated stents. AND NOW come the upgrades. Two this morning - late as usual.

This is a very solid move by Guidant management. Blocking and tackling. A+
