Thu 19 Jun 97 News Release
Mr Archie Nesbitt reports
The company's first phase of drilling has started on its Algun Dia
gold-silver-copper project in Guanajuato State in central Mexico.
The program will consist of 2,000 metres of diamond drilling, NQ size,
comprising of 10 to 15 holes spread over a 1.5 kilometre area where surface
geological mapping, underground sampling of old workings and geochemical
surveys yielded positive results.
The recently completed induced polarization geophysical survey delineated
two anomalies, one covers the central area of the concession where there
are old workings.
The second geophysical anomaly covers the northeastern section of the
project and may be related through a cross structure of the Arroyo Grande
fault, to the central anomaly. This N-E anomaly shows the strongest
response, measures about 350 x 500 metres and is open to the north and
east.
The first phase of the drill program is designed to test both anomalies.
Initially the zones will be tested to obtain samples and structural
information, to be followed by further drilling to define the zones of
mineralization.
Initial results from this first phase of drilling are expected in late
July.
