What are you afraid of? Think people are so stupid they need integrity police to shelter them from the big bad liars? Here's a little secret - the integrity police don’t and will never touch the biggest liars - the incumbents. Maybe these laws are well intentioned (I personally don’t think they are) but our discussion is a perfect example of that they lead to. Discussion is ALWAYS side tracked into endless palavering about the stupid law and neatly away from the discussion of the POLICY. MN. has gone down this road probably farther than any other state and you can guarantee the last days of any election devolve into nothing but finger pointing about who broke the Good Speech laws and any discussion of issues gets totally lost.
