I remember that from the IPR swap. Though the handset manufacturers eventually pay a royalty, I would think TI selling royalty-free chipsets could put a sizeable dent in Q's sales some day. TI folks are no dopes. I hope the IPR QCOM received was worth it.

Nokia. We suspect that Nokia may have paid a very high
price for having waited so long to sign a 3G CDMA license with QCOM.
