Very OT/John, Peter & Value. Amazing.

You guys are also guitar players?!

Had a number of Gibson acoustics during the 60s and 70s, A Gibson SG electric - early 70s. Almost all my gigs were performed on a Gibson Dove bot new in 1965. Wish I'd kept it!!

Currently have a nifty, candy apple, Stratocaster (which I don't play much) and a Yari Grand Concert Master (Classical) that I play when time allow.

My biggest guitar mistake EVER...

Not buying the incredible 1952 Gibson J-200 Dave Van Ronk used in all his performances and recordings till 1968, when he switched to a Guild.

&*(^$#*^)$*&#@)%&$^$# !!!

In a fit of altruism AND because I'd injured my left hand, and couldn't play at the time, set up the sale between the Van Ronks and a close friend of mine who later made 2 albums for Columbia in the 1970s.

Still can't believe I didn't grab that jewel. DID get the chance to play it a few times.<G>

Simply incomparable power, and brilliance in tone. Absolutely thunder and lightning, guys. The musical equivalent of riding a Harley Sportster at 100+ on a deserted hwy<G>

Imagine, $300 for that axe! OH THE PAIN...probably be worth a fortune by now.
