To All, I am trying to come up w/a reasonable time frame for mass xDSL introduction. As I understand it, the steps necessary are: 1) Positive results from trials (any news on this lately?) 2) Conversion of telco switches from analog to appropriate digital (does it matter whether its ADSL/VDSL/HDSL at this point?) 3) Mass production of home modems. My main question is in regards to 2). What capital investment is involved, what is the time frame required? etc. If the RBOC's move fast, we could see substantial earnings for AMTX by mid-97, if not, another year?
