I apologize to the thread.

Rambi started (no blame here, you first grade monitors can wait before you start in with "I don't care who started it"!) the discussion of children by talking about how she would miss hers. I responded and talked a bit about mine. Mrs. Peel joined in. To that point we were all talking only about our own children, or complimenting each other on the jobs we had done on our children. Mrs. Peel said talking about her own children that she got sappy.

I was guilty. I brought in another person's children. I said even X got sappy about her children.

I thought at the time it wasn't a hostile comment to make, since I think getting sappy about your children is a good thing. But it did bring in the children of a non-party to the discussion.

I didn't mean to open any Pandora's boxes. It looks as though I did. I'm sorry.

Please let me be the one to close the box. And shut it and lock it and chain it up.

There. I have thrown the key where NOBODY here will ever find it.

Whew.

P.S. My first dog, of my very own (not a family pet) I called Pandora. I think I had better not say why.
