Sun Microsystems (SUNW) 13.90 -0.43: Hearing trading floor rumors that SUNW will maintain or raise guidance at its mid-quarter update on August 29; no confirmation of course... Sources at SoundView telling us firm does not feel that SUNW will raise guidance on the call. However, following channel checks last week, firm is more comfortable with the qtr. SoundView's contacts indicated that their SUNW business improved sequentially in July.
