Dear Jim and Thread:

What is the problem everyone seems to have wrt to Morgan speeds and voltages? Morgan has been overclocked to 1.18G and 1.2G from the two who have tried with no voltage increase? The 950 MHz Spitfire overclocks to what speed regularly at 1.75V (only overclock I have seen is 1.15G @ 1.85V, the 900 gets to, at best, 1143MHz @ 1.75V)? This shows that the Morgan is already faster than Spitfire at same voltage. Do not make the mistake of comparing Tbirds which are 0.18u copper with shorter Leffs (100nm compared to 120nm for Al IIRC).

Until a few K get out to all the typical overclockers, we will not know what the chip routinely clocks to. We also will not know how fast it will run at reduced voltages (unless some hardware reviewer wants to try). Although my CPU is spec'd for 1.75V, it still runs at 1.2G at 1.575V stable. BTW, there are only 5 overclocks listed for Palomino MPs and all went past 1.4G.

Pete
