PolyMedica Chief Executive Officer Stephen Lee said then that Liberty Medical was the victim of "unsubstantiated allegations" based on fraud and deception.

"We have instructed our attorneys to contact the U.S. Attorney's Office and work with them to resolve this matter as expeditiously as possible. Although we cannot yet predict how long this process will take, PolyMedica will fully cooperate with the investigation," Lee said.

Tuesday's raids caught employees by surprise.
