As we've previously read in greater detail and with greater lucidity, Korea carriers are mid-point in upgrading cell sites...

It didnt seem to me that the thrust of the article centered around the service but rather on the lack of applications. One of the problems is that 1x isnt really suited for VOD....but it seems like the Korean operators/consumers expect 1x to be able to handle VOD. Hopefully, the advent of Java/Brew handsets will allow some compelling content to be developed in Korea.

BTW...SK Telecom reported in their most recent quarter that data ARPU for 1x users was considerably higher than for 2G users. Some of this is probably due to the fact that early adopters are naturally going to use the service more...but this will be an important trend to watch. Of course, the article fails to mention the higher usage. As always, the first rule of journalism is to throw out all data that doesnt agree with your premise.
