I liked the lion story too. Except for the lame jabs taken at people who live by morals. Here is another:

There once was a lion who was admired by all the beasts of the wilderness. One day some hunters came and captured that lion. They took the lion to America, thinking they could sell the lion to a Zoo. But, the American Zoos had plenty of lions and weren’t interested. So, for a year or so the lion was just left in a cage while the hunters sought a resolution. It was costing the hunters quite a bit to keep the lion. Finally a solution was found. The lion was given to a circus that was traveling through town. It took about six months for the tamer to get the lion to jump on the command of a whip and another six months until the trainer could get the lion to follow directions onto a box or through a hoop.

Finally the day came when the lion was ready to be in the great show. People applauded all over the place. There was a tremendous feast waiting for the lion after the show. The lion loved this new life of jumping through hoops and parading for the folk. The lion was right after the dancing bears on the Circus agenda. This was a fine life compared to sitting in a small cage day after day. Years passed and the circus began to have problems selling tickets for these old acts so it fell into hard times and closed.

Some kind people decided to return the beasts to their natural habitats in Africa. The lion was taken to the wilderness from which it came. When it was let out of its cage it began to dance around and put on a show. But, the other beasts of the wilderness were not interested in the show. Each night the lion would ponder its predicament and each day present a new trick. Nothing was working and the lion began to get desperate and to starve.

One day he met a leopard who was new to that part of the wilderness and began a discussion on his situation. The leopard seemed confused at first. The leopard asked, “who do you think you are with all this show business.” The lion answered, “I am the King of Beasts, of course.” The leopard replied, “Aaah, no you are not.”

Of course, the problem had been obvious to all of the regular inhabitants of the wilderness, but well, no body wanted to get in the lions face.
