The problem is that people who view being moral as being true to themselves are also following a principle.

Not yours. But theirs.

As long as they are consistent with it, they're following their principles.

What I view as being unprincipled is two things.

1. Stating that you hold a principle, then acting contrary to it.

2. Stating simultanously that you adhere to conflicting and ireconcilable principles.

Those, to me, are the OP.

But not a person who has a principle but just one different from yours.
