The harm is done by stripping $millions from private pockets and dumping it into government coffers.

This is discretionary money that could (but won't) be spent in local restaurants, movie theatres, etc.

And don't try to tell me that it takes pressure off regular tax payers. It doesn't. It's just extra candy for the politicians to buy votes with and otherwise squander.

As long as you don't bet the farm, or get addicted to it, no harm is done,
