Third party or indirect cracks are actually not only best left unmade about the dearly departed or dearly temporarily departed, but in my view are a bit dubious in general. I am not entirely innocent of this lapse in taste, I'm sure, but the snide, unsubstantive oneliner about an opponent made as an aside to one's pal is not something I do, I hope. I am their object very frequently, I note. Generally I ignore them, of course.

I would not discuss an individual on a moderated thread who was not permitted to post on that thread.
