I haven't seen those commercials, but I took a long trip through Canada over 20 years ago where I was exposed to the culture. The most amazing thing I saw was that people on the highway actually obeyed the speed limit! And the sight of the Mapleleaf flag flying at an RCMP post against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains is a fine thing to see.
