Richard,

you are right. You can remove the 200MHz PII and insert a 300MHz
PII.

Limitations:

1. Must be Intel PII
2. Just some Bucks for the new cpu.
2a. You can also buy a whole computer system at
almost the same cost. (The result would be, you have
TWO computers then)
3. The idea of swapping cpus using a so-called socket or slot
is unlikely to get patented for Intel, as it has been the common
method for plugging different cpus in mainboard for years.
