GZ, I don't have a Mac, but I know that if it is a MS word file and the Mac has MSWord (most do), the file will open in Word. You might have to save as an older version if that's what is on the friend's computer.

If they don't have Word, find out what they have and save as that type if possible. Or save as a rich text format, which they should be able to open.

I believe PDF files are produced in Acrobat, not the free Acrobat Reader. Don't know what the mcw file type is.
