“Squeeze those shorts!”

Intraday Investments Trading Summary for Wednesday, August 22, 2001

Here is a summary of our round-trip intraday trades: NSM long + 0.35, QQQ short + 0.20, CIEN long + 0.05 (too bad we didn’t know they were getting added to the S&P 500 after the close!), QQQ long (0.37), and INTU short (1.45) (too much volume to see a pullback). We also closed the following swing/overnight trades today: EBAY short + 1.55, THQI short + 1.05, and AOC short + 0.27. Overall, it was a profitable day for us primarily due to the overnight trades we closed today, which netted us just under 3 points. We lost a little more than a point on our intraday trades, which gave us a net overall profit of 1.65 points for the day.

We took the following new trades overnight: INTU short (re-entry at high of day; looking for Fibonacci retracement of one point or so on Thursday), SMH long, and QQQ long (re-entry). We do not have any additional overnight/swing positions we are carrying forward.

Trade Well!
