WCOM has already issued the MCIT tracker which reflects the voice business. They also dumped a bunch of debt onto the tracker's side of the business.

The company is still the same, but now WCOM stock only represents the data business.

Interesting that the MCIT tracker is paying a ~17.5% dividend. However, many are questioning the ability of MCIT to maintain that dividend more than a few quarters due to declining voice revenues.

I have no idea if WCOM is planning on permanently spinning-off the voice business into a separate unit, though.
