The latest issue of PNAS and BioCentury have articles on STAT involvement in transmission of the signal due to leptin binding to its receptor. Products from this research are still off in the distant future, but LGND should have strong patent positions and I'm certain they are in talks with other larger pharmaceuticals regarding the STAT technology and ways to profit from the obesity/diabetes/cardiovascular markets.
