She's from North Carolina, I'm from North Carolina... what's there to manage? Seriously, I met her while I was in college. The first Bush-Dukakis debate was held at my school, Wake Forest University. While out strolling around taking in all the action a few hours before the debate, I spotted Mrs. Dole and asked for a picture. She graciously complied, and then she politely blasted my companion who was wearing a "Vote Dukakis" button. Later that evening, I went to a Dukakis rally just to witness the event because the Bush rally was not public. The democrats rented EVERY venue in Winston-Salem, used only one (the convention center), leaving the republicans to the limited livestock barn at the fair grounds for the soiree. True story! One of the Bush-Gore debates was also held at Wake Forest. Sam
