Hi Cosmo,
None of my musician friends trade stocks that I know of, so I guess I'm a trendsetter <g>. In my case, it probably has more to do with my also being an electronic design engineer... being used to graphs, waves, logical constructs, problem solving, and research.
As for Clifftop, I hear it's great fun and many of my old-time friends have gone. I would love to go, too, but it's on the other end of the country and I get in free to a closer music camp that's held the same week in exchange for teaching guitar, but I mostly play the fiddle there. I do play old-time and Irish fiddle. In 1988 I went back east to fiddle festivals for a month when I was early in the learning phase. Galax, Brandywine, West Jefferson, NC., the Carter Family Fold and others were terrific fun and a great adventure. Those are hotbeds of "round peak" fiddling, but my old-time fiddling is more in the Kentucky/Mid-Western style. How about you?
