Yes, they can be a problem.....Lets make that the first topic of discussion.

56K analog modem technology....
Who has delivered? Who has promissed? Where are the standards bodies at now as far as going public with a 56K standard?

I heard that the ITU-T is speeding up the delivery of a 56K so that it may be available by year end 1997. Can anyone confirm?

Will the new standard be a problem for USRX/COMS, being they have the best(??)/most-popular implementation??? Does anyone know of a reason as to why the DSPs used by X2 modems (TI chipset) may not be able to "tweak" their signaling enough through only a software upgrade to be able to change to a new standard. Will USRX support K56flex by a software upgrade? Will Rockwell (ASND,CSCO) be able to support X2? Problems, problems. Any input would be appreciated.
