You read too much and confused your own knowledge. You should never be hyped by authors. Go with college text books which is thorough enough so you don't miss any business procedures. Tom Peters no longer consults for GE because he got hyped by small firms and small temporary successes. Those hypes don't work for big businesses in the long run.

It also shows that you did not have a formal education in your writing when you get suckered by any book that comes along.
