Canadians are the world's third highest per capita emitters of greenhouse gases. In finalizing the Kyoto Protocol, 178 countries, including Canada, agreed to cut greenhouse gas emissions substantially, and act together for the greater good. Every bit we conserve helps. Automobiles are among the highest contributors to emissions, so help by biking or walking often. Drive a fuel-efficient vehicle, and use ethanol-blended gasoline. Use energy-saving appliances, and install a clothesline. Contact your energy provider for information on home energy-savers like curtains, heater jackets, or weather-stripping. Buy local, low-packaging, recycled products. Or, plant a tree.
