That is what real missionary work is about. I don't see any room to compromise on that. If you truly believed that someone you knew was in danger of eternal damnation would you compromise? I didn't think so. You strike me as far too principled to do that.

I understand your point. But we were talking about relief programs, not missionary work. Relief programs, to be effective, must operate within whatever boundaries the local ruling parties establish, however objectionable. If those offering the relief offend, they will be unable to provide the relief. They also risk giving relief efforts a bad reputation and threaten future relief efforts in other parts of the world.

If missionaries elect to participate in relief efforts, they are obligated to put the relief efforts first. To do anything less is disreputable. If they can't restrain their evangelism enough to do the job they commit to do, then they should leave it for those who can. And pray for the moral strength to honor their commitments.
