Let's list the lies and admissions of past lies in this latest Bush statement:
"We're not only going to spend more money" on the military, Bush said. "We're going to do it more wisely. (Truth, Star Wars is the biggest most expensive and unnecessary boodoggle since the Sgt York system and totally turns off the world, weakening our alliances. They know Bush is lying about it when he called it defensive in nature.)
"There is no question that we cannot afford every weapons system being designed or thought about," the president said. (Okay that one he's truthful about, considering they will have to cut other systems drastically to afford Star Wars)
On a sensitive domestic issue, Bush suggested there could come a time when the government must use Social Security surpluses to fund other programs — something he promised to avoid during the presidential campaign. (He's actually being honest here admitting a big campaign lie, but he continues to deny he'd do it.)
"The only reason we should use Social Security funds is in the case of economic recession and war," Bush said. (Guess what, GW, we're already in a recession)
His top economic adviser, Larry Lindsey, has said that in case of a recession he would recommend that Bush dip into Social Security funds. (There it is right there, the broken campaign promise. Read my lips. They've given your money to the rich and energy sector so now they take your social security)
Bush insisted that his budget plan will meet the nation's needs if Congress "adjusts its spending attitudes." (So blame it on congress despite the fact you just gave away the surplus. What are they going to cut? Health care? Education? Yes of course cut the EPA, who needs environmental protection?)
He suggested that lawmakers would have to curtail spending if his economic assumptions, called overly optimistic by Democrats, prove wrong. (He's hedging here, of course he knows his projections are 4extremely over-optimistic and that no further tax cuts can be afforded unless we loot Social Security and other vital programs)
"If I'm off by a point or two Congress can adjust its sights," Bush said. (Yeah sure no problem GW, it's easy)
The nomination of Myers, a supporter of anti-missile systems, comes as the Bush administration is stepping up its bid to develop a missile defense system, and possibly unilaterally withdraw from the 1972 Antiballistic Missile Treaty. (Even though the majority of the US and the world are queasy about Star Wars he insists on making it his stupidest #1 priority, not to mention most expensive. And they totally lie about the price-tag of Star Wars. Once they get us pregnant with this thing it'll run into the hundreds of billions)
"I have no specific timetable in mind," Bush said Thursday. "We will withdraw from the ABM treaty on our timetable, at a time convenient to America." (And what gives him the right to say we're withdrawing from ABM? Did anyone elect him to do this? Are we supposed to trust his instincts considering the damage already done to our international reputation because of him?)
Priorities all wrong the the GOP are sheep following this turkey out of blind party loyalty. |
