You obviously know China better than any of the rest of us. I am under the impression that China is heavily reliant on its very strong rail system, and not as reliant (as compared to the US) on its less-developed road system.

Is this assumption correct?

And if so, then what would be the prospects for a new car rental system in a rail-dependent economy?

You probably already realize that we here in the US somehow assume that the rest of the world is struggling toward a future in which they become just like the US - but as we both know, this isn't necessarily so.
