Bill, When equity put buying increases dramatically, as it has recently, that is not a sign of optimism but a sign of pessimism. Therefore, I can't imagine why you would conclude that there was too much optimism. Put buyers, like odd lot sellers of yesteryear, have a solid history of being wrong. Phil

PS, Anyway, we got our oversold rally today and only time will tell how far it will go. If equity put buying drops dramatically into this rally, we will probably head south again.
