Hi Maurice, I use a 18 months old Motorola L2000 triband GSM phone, use PCCW cellular service, and roam in all countries except Korea and Japan. I have been in communication with my wife from shopping mall in Hawaii, Highway 1 in California, boat in Yangtze River, temple in Jiaxing nowhere, country road near Cebu, Philippines, cafe in Florence, water-villa in Maldives. Not perfect coverage, but certainly adequate. Chugs, Jay
