It's Energy vs. Environment where I think he's most corrupt, and in Big Corporate interests like HMO's vs. consumers. Of course those are his two biggest sponsors, esp energy.
Cheney I blame even more than GW as GW is basically told what to do most of the time. Cheney has become a hardened, cold-hearted greedy man in his later years. For all public service has brought him he doesn't like the idea of giving, only taking more. You can see it in his giving 1% to charity on a 30 million income, and in his lying to us about exaggerated energy shortages fanning the flames of the crisis as much as possible in order to overturn environmental protection laws and let his cronies gouge away. That one move which started well before Bush took office, but during the heat of the campaign (which sapped Gore of his prosperity issue and put Bush in office) single-handedly removed our tax cut and our surplus. Of course a plummeting tech market was also to blame, but that is why it was the worst possible time to do this gouging. Together with the tech fall the energy gouging wiped out 7.5 years of prosperity. It also served Bush-Cheney well, transfering hundreds of billions worldwide into the energy companies where it will stay, and taxed at lower rates of course. SO the governments and people world-wide all basically get screwed. When the crisis was happening we didn't know, we just reacted, but now we know there was no real shortage. In fact despite Cheney telling us there was no way to increase refined fuel or bring NG to market or bring us our electricity during the heat of the summer, we now have gluts in all three energy sources, which is why Cheney-Bush are hiding energy records from congress and why when the truth comes out they and their cronies should be made to pay. To me it's not just the moey, it's the environment and it's the principle. And if they get away with it once they can always do it again. Right now they're busy camouflaging and covering up. Let's get to the truth and hang these Texan pirates out to dry. So the sake of our childrens environment if nothing else. |
