One wonders why he keeps it if that's what he truly feels about the church? As "church" opinions go--I suppose you ought to defer to your superior in absolutism. You cannot have "justice" without determining whether and to what extent there has occurred offense. For instance, "manslaughter" is considered less offensive than murder because there is no premeditation to inform the motive. "Hate crimes" is just a bunch of lawyers tinkering with the system. You don't sound very "tolerant" of moral absolutists I am tolerant of them, but I detest their "certainty" being used to punish the thoughts and to proscribe the actions of others. could it be they are the real target of such legislation? To the extent that "hate crimes" issue from the hostility and intolerance of moral absolutists--yes. You are probably familiar with many of them. Many of them are, of course, anti-Christian. I support legislation to oppose such hate groups. The tenor of your posts suggests that you do not. Well, you're free to think your own thoughts--thinking is not a crime.
