WT, thanks for the article link. In reality nobody knows - but those who live by publishing stories must continue to publish stories. Here's an example of a forecast gone bad...

InStat predicted 20+% growth for semi equips in 2001 last fall. They're not alone in this, of course. Here's my SI post on the subject
