Torotel (TTLO OTC BB)-Some information about one of my favorite dark horses in the microcaps at year end 2001-April

products:
wide variety of magnetic components used in military, aerospace and industrial electronic applications

sales increased to $3.5m from $3.3m

net earnings yr 2000:
$375,000 or .13 per sh (primarily due to $386,000 gain on settlement w/US govt on contract)

net earns 2001:
$317,000 or .11 per sh...this was clean and clear profit from ops due to increased sales, margins, productivity.

cash inceased at April yr end 2001 to $321,000

overall liabilities at yr end 2001 reduced by $238,000

for first time in 4 years Grant Thornton LLP gave company an unqualified audit in 10k...no going concern clause

magnetics backlog at year end 2001 up 53% over prior year

tax loss carryforward avail to offset net earnings was $7.8m at year end

company expecting higher sales this FY as well as higher labor and benefits costs...so gains in productivity and throughput will need to continue as demonstrated in FY 2001

if you take out a $561,000 note owed to former officer(note in dispute and payments have been suspended...see annual report) company now virutally at breakeven in SE due to progress of last two years

shares outstanding 2.88m

inside or close ownership approx 47%

stock closed 8-24 at .12/.30 on otc bb-52wh .39, 52wl .11
