To be completely accurate, an order of magnitude is 1000x. If the Shark were really orders of magnitude smaller than Zip and Jaz it would be microscopic. ;-)

True, it's smaller and lighter and a very cool design. But of course, the designers of the Shark had the advantage of being able to look at products from Iomega and Syquest first.
