w:You do realize that such a comment comes across as severely sour grapes. Whether it's 600MHz ahead or 10GHz ahead, the Pentium 4 is faster, plain and simple.

The comment was simply to provide balance. Your gloating was unwarranted for such a paltry win after several straight quarters of being behind in most benchmarks.

If previous trends are indicative, we'll see this release answered with a faster performing AMD part. This should happen before the 2GHz P4 is out in volume, that is, if the 2GHz part is ever out in volume. I have to wonder how many 2 GHz parts will be pulled because of the throttling issue.
