Dear Thread: Possible trouble for Intel looming. In CPU Review's ( cpureview.com ) 2GHz P4 review, he stated that the P4 refused to run some older benchmarks often used by him. He did not know why that happened. He did state that those benchmarks worked ok on past i850 P4 platforms. Is this another one of those Intel CPUs that fails to run legacy code ala P3-1.13G Linux bug? Perhaps this new CPU may have the same thing done, announce it, wait a month and then pull it for some speedpath issue after selling only a few hundred of them. It would be far worse if they sold a lot of them though, FDIV anyone? I hope he gives more information on which benches failed to run although looking at his past reviews could give clues as to which ones failed. Pete
